A projector comes in handy when you want to watch movies together with your friends & family or to present something in a hall full of people.
There are hundreds of options available in the market. One of them is the Miroir M289 which caught my attention because of its compact design and seamless connectivity.
Miroir is a USA-based Electronics Company and their projectors are recommended by Apple themselves.
Hence, in this Miroir M289 review, we’ll go over the projector’s build quality, performance, and other essential aspects you should consider before buying it.

First Impression & Design
The compact design of the Miroir M289 is very attractive. Due to its compact size, you can easily carry it in your backpack or use it for cookie decorating.

The projector footprint is slightly bigger than your smartphone. Hence, you can easily move it from one room to another or take it to your friend’s house without any issue. It’s compact design makes it an ideal pick for dorm room usage.

The Miroir M289’s design is pretty basic. There is a projector lens on the front, which projects the video and has a shutter, along with two built-in 2W speakers. There’s a 3.5mm audio jack on the backside and volume & power control on the sides.
There’s a small fan at the bottom, which functions when you turn on the projector. Besides, a small stand at the projector’s bottom helps raise the height when required.

Talking about its looks and feel, the shiny black and grey color adds a lot to its beauty and gives it a premium look. Due to its metal build, you may notice the impression of your fingers on the surface if held tightly.
You can easily connect the Miroir M289 with your smartphone, laptop, console, or streaming devices and experience a theater-like picture quality anywhere. It’s one of its most noticeable features.
Moreover, you do not have to carry a bundle of wires to power it up, as it has a 5200 mAh lithium-ion chargeable battery for wire-free operation.
Build Quality & Performance
The looks might be secondary, but performance always remains a primary factor while choosing a projector. Otherwise, you might end up dud projectors like the Wimius P20.
Starting with the resolution, the Miroir M289 produces native resolution of 1920 x 1080p and supports up to 4K video input.

On the connectivity front, the Miroir M289 gets 1x HDMI port, 1x USB Type-A port, 1x USB Type-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack. Along with the connection ports, you can also notice a reset point and DC in port for charging. You can also charge this projector via the USB Type-C port too. On either side of the ports, you can notice perforations for stereo speakers that offer 2W sound output.
Due to its excellent specifications, the Miroir M289 can quickly turn a small space into a 100-inch screen, making it a perfect choice for those who conduct presentations, seminars, or prefer watching movies at home.
The LED bulb lasts up to 20,000 hours, and the 400 lumens brightness is sufficient for a small space. You can play movies, football matches, Netflix, HBO, and other OTT media. However, some users reported that Miroir M289 is incapable of playing iTunes movies, which is disappointing as it is featured as a recommended projector on Apple’s website.
However, one extraordinary feature of Miroir M289 is Automatic Keystone Correction which eliminates the hassle of perfectly aligning the picture on the wall or projector screen.
Moving forward to its battery, the 5200mAH battery lasts up to 2 hours on full charge. To get an uninterrupted experience, I recommend keeping this projector attached to its wall adapter, while watching movies or your favorite TV shows.

The build quality of Miroir M289 is fascinating, as it is made of metal, making it quite heavy. It weighs just under 28 ounces but can be easily carried from one place to another due to its compact size.
Considering all the aspects, Miroir M289 is a fascinating projector that can last a long time if used wisely. The 20,000 hours LED lamp life can make this projector usable for more than 20 years, although other electronics component might not last as long.
In case you’re looking for something lighter, you can also take a look at Miroir’s M220 projector. This projector offers slightly less 1280 x 720p resolution, yet the built quality is excellent but is extremely lightweight at 15 ounces.
Important Features & Functions
While reviewing the Miroir M289 projector and considering all the buyer’s requirements, there are few things to like about this projector and I’ve mentioned them below:
1. Cinematic Experience
The Miroir M289 can quickly turn a small space into a mini cinema with its 1080p full HD native resolution and fairly loud sound for personal listening. Make sure the wall is painted white using projector paint for better picture quality, or get a projector screen if you don’t wish to change the color of your wall.
2. Easy to connect
It has an HDMI, USB Type-C, and USB Type-A connection along with an Audio jack, to plug in your headphones and enjoy movies, matches, and whatnot. Apple users should get an Apple Digital AV adapter to project content from Apple’s products.
3. Powerful Lamp
The quality of the lamp is commendable, as it can easily last up to 20,000 hours and provide high brightness of 400 lumens, which is commendable for a portable projector.

Conclusion
Projectors can be a total replacement for televisions, and the best thing about projectors is portability. As we reviewed the Miroir M289 projector in this article, we must say that there are better options available in the market than this.
One of them is YABER Y31 Native 1080P Projector which even has a zoom-in and zoom-out feature.
The only thing I disliked about the Miroir M289 projector is the battery life. It can be dead in just a couple of years and should be sent to the service center to get it replaced, which is no less than hectic.
