First Impression & Design
We were thoroughly impressed by the aesthetics of this projector. It is housed in a curvy cuboidal body with dimensions of 11.9 x 9.8 x 3.4 inches. With its mid-size body, the Epson Home Cinema 1060 weighs 5.6 pounds.
In short, Epson Home Cinema 1060 has a reliable built quality. However, we’d not recommend intentionally thrashing it! The projector comes in a white-colored wall-mounting frame; pre-equipped with an installation kit!

That being said, it definitely has all the portability features you need in a home-projection device!
Epson Home Cinema 1060 is capable of projecting bright and vibrant images thanks to its 3LCD projection technology. It can project up to 300 inches projection, which is 7-10 times the usual screen size of most television sets.

With its high brightness of 3100 lumens, you can plan an outdoor movie evening by getting an inflatable movie screen.
The projector even houses 2x HDMI ports. One is a general port, while the other is MHL (Mobile High Definition Link) compatible. This means that the projector can connect with a wide range of mobile devices.
Thus, it can be used for generalized movie streaming (Blu-ray Discs), educational presentations, and casual gaming sessions.
It comes equipped with Epson’s patent 3LCD display technology and ability to project images at 3,100 lumens. Therefore, you get sufficiently bright images with impressive color distribution.
With 3100 lumens brightness, you can easily use this projector during the daytime, albeit with a high-gain projection screen.

In other words, this device is compatible with image and video projection on a blank screen. It can even do the job just as good with a mere white space. The built-in speaker, though, is sort of a letdown.
Built Quality & Performance
Epson Home Cinema 1060 uses multiple connectivity modes for better compatibility. 2x HDMI ports at the back of the projector can easily connect with most computer and TV set-top box.

At the same time, the inbuilt Wi-Fi enables connection with MHL integrated mobile devices.
It sports a full white body, housing a projection lens, and multiple grilled hinges.
These hinges serve as exhaust points for the fan. The fan does a great job of cooling the device. However, the fan noise is reasonably audible (28dB – 37dB) in a quiet room, common with most projectors.
As far as image quality is concerned, we were impressed by the projector’s performance! The Epson Home Cinema 1060 comes with a default aspect ratio of 16:9.

The images projected in this aspect ratio seemed better. However, you can easily customize the projector to get multiple aspect ratio.
The Epson 1060 project images and videos with a dynamic contrast of up to 15,000:1. The contrast ratio is 3 times more when compared to our favorite budget projector i.e. the Yaber Pro V7.
This feature is complemented by the integrated 3LCD technology patented and perfected by the parent company.

This further allows Epson 1060 to project full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution images up to 1.2x zoom. The images projected are crisp with zero rainbow effect, unlike most of its counterparts! It comes with a 210W UHE lamp with a life span of 4,500 hours.
In short, the projector lamp will last around 4-5 years if used daily, and a lot more if used frequently. You can read more about projector lamp life by reading this article.
The lamp projects at 3,100 lumens accompanied by the 3LCD feature equally balance brightness and contrast in images. This enhances the projector’s performance even in areas with ambient light.
This allows you to enjoy a movie-theater like experience in your home while watching all and every type of movie you enjoy.
Important Features & Functions
To be honest, we find Epson Home Cinema 1060 surprisingly feature-rich for its price range! It supports multiple input signals, including NTSC, NTSC 4.43, PAL, M-PAL, N-PAL, PAL-60, and even SECAM!
The projection size can be tuned from 30 inches to 300 inches by changing the distance between projector and projection surface. The projector offers an automatic vertical keystone correction across ±30-degrees. You must manually adjust the horizontal latches across ±30-degrees, nonetheless!

This means you can get a properly aligned viewing experience, even if the projector is placed in a corner.
It is capable of projecting images and videos as far as 19 ft. The projected images and videos are cast with up to 15,000:1 contrast ratio and 1.07 billion color variations. Thus, you get near-perfect image colors even under brighter environments.
Please note that the ideal viewing distance is between 7-12ft to get a bright and color-accurate image quality.
It hosts multiple connection ports at the back, including two HDMI ports, one d-Sub 15 pins (for computers), one RCA port (for composite video), and two Audio-in ports.
It even hosts a USB type-A and a USB type-B port for plug-n-play options. These are complemented by the projector’s in-built Wi-Fi that allows all MHL connections!
The projector comes with an integrated 2W mono speaker just like the Epson HC1040 and HC760HD. Which, in reality, is not that good, and you’re better off getting a dedicated speaker like Anker Soundcore 2 and connecting it to the projector via an AUX cable.
One of the best features included within this projector is the ‘Quick Corner.’
This feature enables the user to adjust each corner of the image separately. In short, you can now get a uniform rectangular projection. This is a massive boost from previous models. And, it is definitely a giant leap for the perfectionists out there.

Conclusion
We like the overall performance of Epson Home Cinema 1060. It grants a right blend of primary and secondary features.
That being said, the lack of a properly integrated speaker is a letdown. However, you should not have any complaints about it, considering the price you get this device.
We would have loved it even more if the input latency was slightly reduced, affecting gaming performance. However, the projector is meant for a movie-theater like experience in your home, and it indeed delivers that!
In fact, this is one of the best projectors to be used for leisure purposes. Plus, with high lumen support, you can also use the Epson Home Cinema 1060 in sports bar or in your backyard for an outdoor movie experience in the evening.
