Epson is a universally popular brand for office products, and the Epson Pro EX9220 happily carries its lineage.

It is one of the most loved business projectors thanks to its superior image quality, sturdy built quality, and countless features.

For starters, the Epson Pro EX9220 comes with WUXGA resolution, which translates to 1920 x 1200p. The WUXGA resolution has a native aspect ratio of 16:10, which matches with most business laptop screens. Thus, you can easily view PowerPoint or Keynote presentations without any issues.

Most business projectors offer the highest brightness, but it also results in washed-out colors and puts the overall image quality for a toss.

However, the Epson Pro EX9220 offers around 3600 lumens of brightness. The brightness is ideal for comfortable daytime viewing.

In the connectivity department, the Epson Pro EX9220 comes with 2x HDMI ports, a VGA port, a USB-A port, a USB-B port (for video), and RCA ports (for video & audio).

Apart from this, it also comes with wireless connectivity options. You can wirelessly connect your smartphone or tablet to this projector via screen mirroring.

The screen mirroring feature is effortless to use. Ensure your smartphone/tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi router as your projector. Later, the projector displays a QR code; scan it via your smartphone or tablet, and you’re good to go.

While the Epson Pro EX9220 has numerous positives things; however, you’ll have to deal with a few negatives too.

Firstly, the projector has a glossy black top. It easily becomes a fingerprint and dust magnet out of the box. Secondly, the fan noise is loud at peak brightness, but it’s expected from a lamp-based projector.

The projector’s box also comes with a carrying case. However, it’s very thin and will do little to protect the projector during a fall.

2. Optoma EH412X

The Optoma EH412X is the brightest conference room projector on our list. Thus, if you’re looking for a projector to use extensively during the daytime, this projector is a no-brainer.

The Optoma EH412X offers a mind-boggling 4500 lumens brightness. It’s an ideal projector to use in a bigger conference room for easy visibility.

In the design department, the Optoma EH412X looks meh and resembles several low-cost Optoma projectors. However, don’t let that interfere with the projector’s performance.

Firstly, the Optoma EH412X is a long-throw projector, yet it requires a lesser distance to project a larger image. Thanks to its 1.3x optical zoom, the EH412X can produce a 100-inch screen from a distance of just 8.2 feet. In comparison, other projectors need around 10-12 feet of distance from the projection screen.

In addition, it also comes with +/-40° vertical keystone adjustment. It helps you get the right rectangular projection without frequently moving the projector.

The Optoma EH412X has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080p. The higher resolution helps make the text and graphics look crisp on the projection screen.

Apart from this, the projector also supports 4K input thanks to the HDMI 2.0 connectivity option. It effortlessly converts 4K images into 1080p and displays them on the projection screen. The projector has 2x HDMI ports (HDMI 1.4 and 2.0), a USB port (for power), and a headphone jack.

Unfortunately, the Optoma EH412X misses out on wireless connectivity features. You can easily solve this by getting a $30 Android streaming stick. There’s also a 10-watt speaker, loud enough to fill a small-size conference room.

Apparently, the higher brightness output comes at a cost. In Bright mode, this projector can last anywhere from 2000-4000 hours. Thus, you’ll need to change the lamp every 2-3 years. However, in Eco mode, Optoma claims the projector lamp can last up to 15,000 hours.

3. BenQ MH733

The BenQ MH733 is one of my favorite business projectors, mostly available under $700.

In normal mode, black text looks extremely sharp against a white background. However, blacks look more like dark gray, which is a common trait in projectors with high brightness.

Unlike other business projectors, the BenQ MH733 has a compact design. It weighs around 5.5 pounds making it easier to carry anywhere with you.

It has a white-colored plastic casing resembling most business projectors. However, several textures around the body give it a unique look.

The BenQ MH733 doesn’t have any wireless features; but, it’s equipped with a plethora of wired connectivity options.

You get 2x HDMI ports, 2x USB Type-A ports, 1x USB Mini-B port, a VGA port, a LAN port, and audio in and out ports. If you want wireless features, you can easily connect with a Chromecast, and you’re good to go.

In terms of projection adjustment, the BenQ MH733 offers both vertical and horizontal keystone adjustments. It offers ±30° vertical and ±20° horizontal keystone adjustment.

Thanks to 1.3x optical zoom, you can expect a 100-inch screen from a distance of just 8.2 feet. Without the optical zoom, the projector requires over 10 feet distance.

BenQ projectors are known to have the highest lamp life. It’s partly possible due to the LampSave mode in most BenQ projectors.

In LampSave mode, the lamp life jumps up to 16,000 hours. However, in normal mode, the expected lamp life is up to 4000 hours.

Lastly, the projector has a 10-watt mono speaker. The speaker is loud enough to fill a small room, making it one of the best projectors for a small conference room.

4. Viewsonic PX701HDH

Viewsonic is one of my favorite projector brands. It’s because Viewsonic offers feature-packed projectors at an affordable price. The Viewsonic PX701HDH is a testament to brand reputation. It comes with almost every feature you’ve seen in the projectors mentioned above at a considerably low price.

For the low price, there is surely some cost-cutting, though. Don’t worry because it’s limited to the design and overall aesthetics.

It comes in a compact white casing that resembles older projectors. It has a run-of-the-mill design, and surely the Viewsonic PX701HDH won’t win any brownie points in the looks department.

Don’t let the design and looks fool you because the projector packs a punch from what’s on the inside.

Firstly, it is a Full HD projector with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080p. It offers up to 3500 lumens brightness and a dynamic contrast ratio of 12,000:1.

In its brightest mode, ideal for conference rooms, is optimized for whites. Thus, the rest of the colors look slightly washed out. However, once you switch to SuperColor mode, the vibrancy improves, but you’ll have to slightly sacrifice the brightness for color accuracy.

Viewsonic also claims the projector lamp can last up to 20,000 hours if used with the SuperEco+ mode. The SuperEco+ mode considerably reduces brightness, but not totally useful for daytime usage. With normal mode, expect the lamp to last up to 3,000 hours.

Like many budget business projectors, the Viewsonic PX701HDH has no wireless connectivity options. Therefore, if you want wireless connectivity like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, you must purchase an external streaming media player.

A unique feature that Viewsonic offers at this price is lens shift. With this feature, you can physically move the projection lens vertically by ±5%. It’s a helpful feature during ceiling mount. It helps make a few additional adjustments.

It has optical zoom, but it’s only limited to 1.1x manual zoom. Thus, you can’t expect much improvement from it.

Moreover, the Viewsonic PX701HDH has a 10-watt mono speaker and weighs around 5.7 pounds for easy transportation.

5. Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-FH02

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly and sleek conference room projector, consider the Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-FH02.

The projector falls within Epson’s Epiqvision range, which aims to offer modern-design projectors at an affordable price.

The Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-FH02 has a completely different design compared to most business and home theater projectors we’ve seen from Epson.

As you’ve seen, most business projectors don’t have wireless connectivity options. However, that’s not the case with Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-FH02. It has built-in Android TV, which means you can connect it to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth right out of the box.

For a low price, this projector offers a whopping 3000 lumens brightness along with 1920 x 1080p native resolution. The projection is superbly bright, which makes it the best projector for meeting rooms.

Having said that, the contrast ratio isn’t good; therefore, I wouldn’t recommend it for watching movies or sports. The black looks gray, but that isn’t a problem when viewing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.

For the low price, it surely misses out on fancy features like HDR, 4K support, 3D support, optical zoom, lens shift, etc.

In the design department, the Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-FH02 looks modern. It has a sleek white casing that breaks the shackles of older projector design.

Being a sub-$600 projector, Epson has cut a few corners, which don’t make much sense.

For example, the projector has limited wired connectivity options. It includes 1x HDMI port and 1x USB port. As you’ll see in above image, both ports are occupied by the Android streaming stick supplied with the projector. To connect a laptop via HDMI, you’ll have to remove the streaming stick or get an HDMI switch.

Apart from this, you get two remote controls within the box, one for the projector and the other for the streaming stick. Doesn’t seem like a seamless solution for a factory-designed projector.

How to Choose a Projector for Conference Room?

There are a few things to consider before choosing a conference room projector. There are thousands of options available in the market, but you must choose a conference room projector that fits your requirement. Here are the 3 most important things for you to consider:

1. Brightness: Since you use the projector for meetings and presentations, it should offer enough brightness for daytime viewing. A lower-resolution projector will blur these things, making them unreadable from a longer distance. Therefore, I suggest purchasing a projector with at least 1920 x 1080p (Full HD) resolution.
3. Connectivity Options: Gone are the days where you need a laptop to view your presentations on a projector. Several business projectors now come with wireless features. These features allow displaying presentations via your smartphone and tablet. In addition, you can also connect a USB drive and show presentations via the built-in file manager.
